Near North Fund Committee: The Near North Fund Committee is the most critical fundraising effort for our school as it provides resources that support educational initiatives that tuition alone does not cover.
Big Night Event Committee: The Big Night event, held annually, entirely benefits NNM's Scholarship Program which is the primary source of tuition assistance to our families and fulfills the school's commitment to creating a socio-economically diverse community. Members of this committee help solicit donations and help with the planning and execution of the entire event.
Fall Festival Event Committee: Each year we hold a Fall Festival Celebration for the entire NNM community to enjoy, which benefits the Near North Fund. Members of this committee help solicit gifts-in-kind and help with the planning and execution of the entire event.
New Parent Ambassadors/Welcome Committee: The Welcome Committee organizes opportunities and seeks ways to ensure that families new to NNM have a smooth transition and feel supported, connected, and welcomed.
Room Parents: Room parents provide a liaison between teachers, class, and the school administration. They help facilitate classroom events and bring together the community for both social and charitable events throughout the year.
Rooftop Urban Farm: Chicken checkers are needed this year for Saturdays and Sundays, time of day TBD.
Sandwich Shoppe Community Fridge: This community fridge, started by Sandwich Shoppe Students, offers the community 24-hour access to food through a publicly accessible fridge and pantry. Food donations are needed including fresh vegetables, milk, eggs, and shelf-stable items like peanut butter and canned food (with pop-off lids). Please, no expired foods or raw meat (full guidelines here).
AAPI (Asian American & Pacific Islander) Affinity Group: A space for all parents of children who identify as AAPI who are looking to connect with the larger community at NNMS.
Mocha Montessori Affinity Group: A community of families that provides cultural, social, and parenting support to NNM families with Black children. Mocha Montessori hosts both child-friendly and parent-centered events throughout the year, offering families the opportunity to build relationships and connect with mirrors.
Masala Montessori Affinity Group: An affinity space for families of children who identify as South Asian, biracial South Asian, or multiracial South Asian.
MENA Montessori (Muslim, Middle Eastern, and/or North African) Affinity Group: A space for parents who identify with the greater Muslim, Middle Eastern, and/or North African diaspora.
