In response to the COVID-19 virus and resulting economic hardships many face, Near North Montessori has established the NNM Cares Fund to support our families and ensure we emerge as a stronger community. This year, it is more important than ever to come together to care for one another in this VUCA (a term for situations that are vulnerable, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) world. Our school has seen significant changes over the many months. But, we are a resilient and compassionate community ready to step up to support others in need.
When COVID closed our school last March, both current and alum families stepped up to support NNM. Masks were made, PPE was donated and our community stepped up to philanthropically support those who needed some extra help. This year will be no different and this is why we will be focusing all efforts around NNM Cares.
There are a number of ways in which every one of us can support our community through NNM Cares to make sure we not only survive, but thrive. This is a year unlike any other and we are leaning on our families to support Near North like never before.
Let us know why you and your family love NNM with this fun coloring page.
- NNM Cares Fund: First, we ask that if you’re in a position to support philanthropically, please donate to the NNM Cares Fund.
- Near North Neighbors: Second, many of our NNM families have seen their own businesses affected by the city-wide restrictions and closures. As a community, there are several things we can do to support our Near North Neighbors.
- NNM Faculty and Staff Gratitude: Finally, to care for NNM means expressing gratitude for our faculty and staff for their efforts and tremendous work during this extraordinary time. Over the course of the year, in collaboration with the NNM Room Parents, weekly opportunities to express our gratitude to NNM’s faculty and staff who are making this school year possible will be available.
