Student Wellness

Keeping support within Reach

We help all students see themselves as unique—growing and evolving throughout their journey at NNM. By elevating their academic and emotional well-being, we support students as they develop their own identity and prepare them to handle the unknowns of tomorrow.

Student Wellness

The Student Wellness Team welcomes all students to the Peace Room - a space for mindfulness, connection, and where students practice independence, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills. The team works with all levels and classrooms, teaching social skills and emotional regulation through age-appropriate curriculum.

“If we are among the men of good will who yearn for peace, we must lay the foundation for peace ourselves, by working for the social world of the child.”— Maria Montessori (international Montessori Congress, 1937)

Learning Support

For students who need additional academic support, we offer learning intervention tailored to a student's individual needs. Students are provided support according to the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) model. Our Learning Support team monitors student progress and adjusts interventions accordingly. In partnership with parents and teachers, if it is determined that a student is in need of more targeted support, we can refer them to a third-party specialist or to outside resources and interventions.

Parent Support

As parents navigate academic challenges, our community is here to help. Our CALS group (Celebrating All Learning Styles) is a space for parents of students who have learning differences and/or are neurodiverse. This group provides opportunities for parents to connect to discuss their children's successes and to share valuable learning resources.

Student Wellness works closely with teachers, parents, the Learning Support Team, Academic Coaches, the Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement, and outside support providers to serve NNM students.
