Events at Near North Montessori

Near North is more than just a community; we are a family. Each year our family and friends gather together to celebrate Near North, at a variety of events in an effort to support the school in numerous ways. The majority of school hosted events help to support NNM's Financial well-being, while offering current and past families opportunities for connecting and socializing.

We hope to see you at an event this year!

Big Night

Near North's annual fundraiser, supporting scholarship for Near North Students. Silent and live auctions, dancing, art displays, and your best NNM friends - all to benefit scholarship for the school.

Big Night is the primary source of tuition assistance to NNM Families and helps to fulfill the school's commitment to creating an economically diverse community. Over the past 17 years, Big Night has raised over $3 million towards NNM's Scholarship program. For the 2019-2020 school year, NNM granted over $825,000 of aid to 84 promising students - approximately 15% of the total student population.

Halloween Celebration

A beloved NNM Tradition, the Halloween Celebration is a fun night for the entire family. Games, yummy treats, creative costumes, and nostalgic family photos all make for an evening to never forget.

Halloween Celebration looks a bit different this year, but we are so excited to be able to host a virtual celebration. Click here for more information.

Huge thank you to all of our 2019 sponsors, donors, and volunteers. 2019's event was the most successful yet and we cannot wait for 2020!

Grandparents and Special Friends Day

Grandparents and Special Friends Day is a beloved event and day of connecting at Near North. Breakfast, class visits, fun activities, and a special lunch lend to creating memories that are sure to last a lifetime.

This past year, for many reasons, we quickly had to shift to a virtual event. We are so thankful for our incredible community and the commitment to creativity, community, and love. We received so many beautiful photos, be sure to check them out here!

Special Thank You to this year's hosts: The Koduri Family.

Community Events at Near North Montessori

Parents Night Out

A night for the parents at school, all about getting to know your fellow NNM parents and engaging in a little friendly competition, while raising funds crucial to supporting the Near North Annual fund. Hosted annually in the winter.

New Parent Welcome Event

A special welcome to the Near North Family. Before each school year, along with the Admissions Team and our Parent Ambassadors, we host a welcome event for all new Near North Families. The perfect chance to get to know each other and see the school before a new adventure begins.

Festival of Lights

This Biennial event is a celebration of the many cultural heritages that make up our Near North Community. Hosted every other year and organized by parent volunteers, Festival of Lights is a learning opportunity for families complete with incredible performances and a gathering to experience special traditions, arts & crafts, and delicious snacks.

The next Festival of Lights celebration will be held in December 2021. If you are interested in becoming a parent volunteer to help coordinate a group performance, please contact Claire Bracco, Events & Alumni Relations Manager, at

Alumni Events

Our alumni are our greatest accomplishment. Each summer we host the most recent NNM Class of High School Graduates for their 4 year reunion to reconnect and celebrate their next journey post NNM.
