Near North Fund Committee: The Near North Fund Committee spearheads our most critical fundraising efforts, providing resources that support educational initiatives beyond what tuition covers.
Big Night Event Committee: The annual Big Night event exclusively benefits NNM's Scholarship Program, crucial for offering tuition assistance to our families and fostering socio-economic diversity within our community. Committee members assist in donation solicitation and event planning.
Fall Festival Event Committee: Our annual Fall Festival Celebration, benefiting the Near North Fund, is a highlight for the entire NNM community. Committee members aid in soliciting gifts-in-kind and coordinating the event.
New Parent Ambassadors/Welcome Committee: The Welcome Committee ensures a seamless transition for families new to NNM, fostering a sense of support, connection, and belonging.
Room Parents: Acting as liaisons between teachers, classes, and school administration, room parents facilitate classroom events and foster community engagement throughout the year.
Rooftop Urban Farm: Volunteer chicken checkers are needed on Saturdays and Sundays, with specific times to be determined.
Sandwich Shoppe Community Fridge: This community fridge, initiated by Sandwich Shoppe Students, provides 24-hour access to food. Donations of fresh vegetables, milk, eggs, and shelf-stable items are appreciated.
Family Affinity Groups:
- AAPI (Asian American & Pacific Islander): A space for parents of children who identify as AAPI to connect with the larger community at NNM.
- Mocha Montessori: A community providing cultural, social, and parenting support to NNM families with Black children. Hosts child-friendly and parent-centered events to build relationships.
- Masala Montessori: An affinity space for families of children who identify as South Asian, biracial South Asian, or multiracial South Asian.
- MENA Montessori (Muslim, Middle Eastern, and/or North African families): A space for parents who identify with the greater Muslim, Middle Eastern, and/or North African diaspora.
- Latine/Hispanic Montessori: A space for all parents of Latine/Hispanic heritage and/or children who identify as Latine/Hispanic.
- Mishpacha Montessori: A space for parents who identify as Jewish.
- Learning Differences & Neurodiversity Montessori: A supportive space for parents of children with learning differences and/or neurodiverse needs to connect and access resources.
- Pride Montessori (LGBTQ+ families): A space for parents who identify as LGBTQ+ and/or have LGBTQ+ children to connect and share experiences.
