Thursday, October 5 at FXW:  Please see the very generous invitation from our friends at Frances Xavier Warde School, who are hosting a panel and school fair for Boarding Schools.

On behalf of our Head of School Michael Kennedy and the FXW High School Guidance Team, please accept this invitation to join us for a panel discussion entitled The Benefits of Boarding School. The Frances Xavier Warde School will host this discussion on Thursday, October 5, from 8:15 a.m.- 9:30 a.m. at the FXW Administrative Offices, One East Superior, 6th floor (across Superior from our HNC Campus).

FXW initiated this panel last year to address the advantages of and dispel misconceptions about the boarding school experience. We also sought to contribute to the expansion of high school options for our parent community to consider. By eliminating lingering obstacles and inhibitions surrounding this particular option, our hope is that boarding school will continue to be a right fit for more FXW students moving forward. Our parents were presented with an opportunity to engage admissions representatives from a variety of schools, many of which will be joining us again including: Chaminade College Preparatory SchoolChoate Rosemary HallCulver AcademyLa Lumiere SchoolLake Forest AcademyMcCallie SchoolPortsmouth Abbey SchoolWayland AcademyWestern Reserve Academy and Woodlands Academy.

“I thought last year’s panel was extremely helpful because boarding school was not an option that my husband and I had previously considered for my son. And it’s probably something that we would not have otherwise explored if FXW had not brought it forth. As we are beginning our high school exploration process, it helped us to better grasp that, yes, we are guiding our son through selecting a high school that will be the best fit for him. But that it is also important for that choice to be a place that truly sets him up for success in his first year of college. Boarding school is a tremendous launching pad for this. The panel discussion added a category for us as we think through the wide array of Catholic, independent and selective enrollment CPS schools which could prove invaluable as an option.”
