As part of the phase in process for new NNM students, teachers will first visit with new students in their homes. Children then are invited to visit the school, see their classrooms, meet with the classroom assistant teachers and attend a “mini-morning.” Teachers will contact parents during the summer weeks to schedule a home visit. Individual phase in schedules are emailed to the parents of each new student stating the time of the student’s visit to school/mini morning and their individual start date for the first day of school.
To facilitate a smooth transition into the class, starting dates for new students are staggered. Five and 4-year-old students begin first, followed by small groups of 3-year-olds. Typically, 3-year-old and toddler students start the Monday – Wednesday of the full week following the Labor Day weekend.
