The role of the room parent is to assist the teacher in organizing and promoting class and school events throughout the year, serve as a liaison between the teacher and the class parents and be a resource for new families. The generous contributions of room parents help strengthen the sense of community in the class, which benefits the children and the school as a whole.
Typically, there are two to three room parents per class depending on the grade level. Room parent volunteers are recruited at the end of the current school year for the following school year. If you would like to learn more, please contact Room Parent Chair Christina Glickman at email@example.com.
