I got in a fight

It was verbal. I was discussing current events with friends recently and we had a disagreement. I said a few things that would not be considered,  “kind words”. After a period of righteous indignation, the realization that I had been out of line, sunk in. What to do? I had to apologize and hope they would accept it. They did. Not infrequently, I have a child in my office who has said or done something that wasn’t so nice and we talk about doing things differently next time and saying sorry. This can be hard work. I’m still working on it.
