Tweedy Benefit Concert – March 30 and 31

Save the Dates: On Friday March 30 and Saturday March 31, NNM parent and Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy will be performing solo shows at the Vic Theatre to benefit NNM’s Financial Aid Program. Ticket prices are $75 for General Admission; $150 for Golden Circle, which includes General Admission seating in front of the stage and a post-concert “meet and greet” with Jeff. The Board of Directors is searching for parents interested in participating in the governance of the school by serving as a member of the Board of Directors. Interviews will be held during the evening of Tuesday, March 13. The Board welcomes applications from any interested parent; however parents with at least two years experience at NNM are preferred. This year the board is especially interested in candidates with experience in diversity, strategic planning work and expertise in communications and technology. Applications are available in the school office or online at http://www.nnms.org/connect-and-support/board-of-directors/ and are due back in the office, to the attention of Sarah Norris, by Friday, March 9. Death & Harry Houdini Benefit Performance – March 2

A benefit performance of “Death & Harry Houdini” will take place on Friday, March 2 at 4:00 pm at the Chopin Theatre, 1543 W. Division Street, with all ticket proceeds donated to NNM. You will not want to miss this performance as all other performances are sold out.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in the Development Office or by calling Brenda Turner at 773.269.6229. NNM families may park in the school parking lot during the performance.

Sign up for a Coffee

Come for Coffee…Stay for 12 years. Your involvement with Near North Montessori begins with a “Coffee,” an informational session and tour. At a Coffee, you learn about the Montessori philosophy, our curriculum from Parent/Infant throught Junior High and have a chance to ask questions of staff and NNM parents. You will also receive a guided tour of the school, where you will see the children at work in their classroom environments and listen to older students speak for themselves about their work and experience at school.

January Coffees are filling up. Prospective parents who have children who will be 3 years old by September 1, 2012 are invited to sign up for a January Coffee date in time for the January 15 application deadline. There are two coffees in January and the first is already full. Contact admission@nnms.org with any questions.
