Why is the annual charitable giving at NNM necessary?

Tuition alone does not cover the cost of educating a student at NNM. Like all independent schools, NNM conducts annual fundraising programs that contribute to the operating budget, which in turn provides direct funding to the educational initiatives that tuition alone does not cover. Current families are encouraged to make the NNM Annual Fund their first giving priority while their children are enrolled.

Why doesn’t the school simply increase tuition?

The school deliberately sets tuition below full cost in order to keep the school more affordable to a wider range of students and to continue to provide a culturally and socio-economically diverse environment. It also provides community members with opportunities to support the school with tax-deductible, philanthropic commitments.

When should I make my Annual Fund gift?

Gifts made early in the school year provide the greatest flexibility in delivering our mission. Therefore, we are asking that you consider and make your donation to the NNM Annual Fund as soon as possible but no later than December 31, 2011.

How can I make a gift?

Donations can be made in the form of cash, check, credit card payments, stock or online.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes, contributions made to the NNM Annual Fund, Financial Aid Program, Capital Campaign and Teacher/Staff Appreciation Drive are tax-deductible.

Do corporate matching gifts count as part of an Annual Fund gift?

Yes. Corporate matching gifts count toward the NNM Annual Fund goal. Check with your Human Resources Department to see if your company offers a matching gift program.
