The Urban Garden Festival alternates with Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day every other year and is an all-school family event.  The next Urban Garden Festival will be held on May 10, 2008 in the gym and courtyard.

Our festival focuses on celebrating nature and the beauty of the world around us.  In 2006, activities included the creation of concrete garden pavers, peace flags, May Fair baskets (to be shared anonymously with a friend or neighbor), pot painting and pot planting.  Entertainment ranged from the Ravenswood Morris Dancers to a performance from folk singer, Julie Frost , to dancing around the May Pole, to our own talented Near North children (bands, drums, etc).  Add delicious food and incredible decorations and you are set for a beautiful day with fellow NNMS families and friends!
