The Endowment Fund was created in 1996 by parents concerned about the long-term financial strength of the school. Families who are able are asked to make an additional financial commitment, beyond tuition and annual giving, to ensure the cultural and economic diversity of the student body, as well as to maintain the school's quality staff. Participation in this endeavor is a gift that keeps on giving year after year. Everyone is welcome to participate in giving to the Endowment Fund in whatever capacity they are able and are invited to make multi-year pledges.

Near North Montessori School is a not-for-profit organization which receives no state or federal funding. As a private school, tuition does not fully cover the costs of running the school. Therefore, fundraising is essential. The Annual Fund, the Endowment Fund and the Staff Bonus Pool are the school's three direct fundraising events.
