Near North Montessori School was founded in 1963 as an alternative to traditional education. We are a fully accredited , non-profit institution that serves over 500 students in the Chicago area from pre-school to the junior high level.

In 1989, after several decades on Chicago Avenue, we moved to larger facilities on Division Street. Here, in addition to our unique classrooms and full library, our students enjoy the advantages of science labs, music rooms, a gymnasium, computer lab, theater, private playground and much more.

Our philosophy is based on the methods developed by Dr. Maria Montessori at the turn of the century in Rome, Italy. Our goal is to educate the human potential.
